KUALA LUMPUR: I-Bhd via its wholly owned subsidiary I-R&D Bhd, inked a partnership agreement with Hilton Worldwide Manage Ltd today to build a four-star hotel at its fully integrated intelligent development, I-City.

“Boasting a gross development value of RM200 million, the four-star hotel will cater to the demand of both the business community and travelers who are attracted to the host of leisure activities at our 25-acre theme park,” said Datuk Eu Hong Chew.

Construction works is expected to start in the first quarter of next year, he said.

The hotel is the second hotel for I-City that will boost its RM1 billion investment property portfolio once it comes into operation in 2018, he said.

He was speaking to reporters after inking the partnership agreement. Under the agreement, he noted that Hilton will be operating 300 rooms.

I-Bhd is also looking to build a third hotel, which is expected to come on stream in 2020, he said.

I-City comprises corporate towers, cyber office suites, service apartments, hotels, data centers and a 1.5 million sq ft regional shopping mall. The last is a joint development with Thailand Central Retail Group that will be open in 2017.
