KUALA LUMPUR (May 25): Honda Malaysia Sdn Bhd announced today the reduction of between RM4,000 and RM18,000 for new vehicle purchase, following the government's recent move to zero-rate the goods and services tax (GST) beginning June.

Honda said it is offering the price reduction, which is effective June 1, for all its locally-assembled and imported models.

As for the locally-assembled models such as Jazz, Jazz Hybrid, BR-V, City, City Hybrid, HR-V, Civic, CR-V and Accord, Honda said it will be reducing prices by between RM4,088 and RM9,573.

Meanwhile, its imported models such as New Odyssey and Civic Type R will see the on-the-road selling price reduced by RM14,362 and RM18,072 respectively.

"With the implementation of zero-rated GST effective Jun 1, 2018, Honda customers can enjoy the new pricing before the re-introduction of sales and services tax (SST)," Honda Malaysia managing director and chief executive officer Toichi Ishiyama said in a statement today.

He added that customers who purchase selected Honda models will also be entitled to attractive 'Welcome Festive Rewards' starting from June 1.

"Customers will be able to benefit more with additional savings and bonus when they purchase their dream car in the month of June 2018," Ishiyama added.
