KUALA LUMPUR (June 30): Malaysian Resources Corporation Bhd (MRCB) has won the bid to develop the coveted RM7 billion MX-1 parcel, slated to be the main town centre of the Kwasa Damansara township development undertaken by EPF’s Kwasa Land Sdn Bhd.

In a statement, MRCB said its group CEO En Imran Tan Sri Mohamad Salim received the letter of award from Mohd Lotfy Mohd Noh, the managing director of Kwasa Land for the project. This is the first award by Kwasa Land for the massive development.

MRCB is now “working towards finalising the definitive agreement for this project”.

Meanwhile, Mohd Lotfy in a separate statement today said the offer made to MRCB was conditional upon them signing the definitive agreement within 30 days from the date of offer letter.

“On the whole, this has been a comprehensive bid on an open competitive basis. We would like to thank all the tenderers for their enthusiasm and commitment in their submissions. We truly appreciate the effort and the resources that they have put in,” he said.

According to Kwasa Land, Project MX-1 is a 64-acre parcel of mix developments under the provisional master layout plan that has been earmarked to be the main town centre of the proposed Kwasa Damansara Township.

Kwasa Land said that moving forward, it has scheduled to invite Tier 3 Bumiputera developers for the inaugural Bumiputera development and Tier 2 developers for a residential development by the third and fourth quarters of 2014 respectively.
