<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>In the filing to Bursa Malaysia today, HeveaBoard said the board of directors will announce the appointment of the new chairman in due course.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>According to its Annual Report for 2017, HeveaBoard had appointed Chan as its Independent Non-Executive Director on Oct 1, 2004 and on Feb 12, 2010, he was re-designated as HeveaBoard’s Independent Non-Executive Chairman.</p></div><div class=inPageAd id=div-gpt-ad-inpage></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>Chan had served as a teacher, a headmaster, the Secretary General of Parti Gerakan Rakyat Malaysia, a senator as well as the President of the Senate in Malaysia.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>Meanwhile, he has also served as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Tenaga Nasional Bhd as well as a director of a few of its subsidiaries.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>Shares of HeveaBoard closed unchanged at 83 sen for a market capitalisation of RM464.09 million. Over the past year, the stock has fallen as much as 45.25% from RM1.52.</p></div>
