<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>According to its 2017 annual report, HeveaBoard appointed Chan as its independent non-executive director on Oct 1, 2004, and on Feb 12, 2010, redesignated him as independent and non-executive chairman.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>Chan was also a teacher, headmaster, Parti Gerakan Rakyat Malaysia secretary general, a senator and president of the Senate in Malaysia.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>HeveaBoard shares closed unchanged yesterday at 83 sen, with a market capitalisation of RM464.09 million. Over the past year, the stock has fellen as much as 45.25% from RM1.52.</p></div>
