KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 20): Heng Huat Resources Group Bhd, whose production plant in Gua Musang, Kelantan caught fire on Nov 17, said the incident has no material impact on its operations.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, Heng Huat said majority of its production lines in the facility — owned by its wholly-owned unit HK Gua Musang Sdn Bhd — were not affected by the fire and remained functional.

"The loss of sales arising from the disruption is estimated to be less than 1% of the group's total sales revenue based on the audited financial statements for the financial year ended Dec 31, 2016 (FY16)," it added.

However, the mattress manufacturer pointed out that the full financial and consequential impact from the incident can only be ascertained "after the fire department and insurance representative completed the investigation".

"The board will make further announcement whenever there is new development as well as any significant financial impact on the company," it said.

Shares of Heng Huat closed unchanged at 26.5 sen today, giving it a market capitalisation of RM81.81 million.
