KUALA LUMPUR: Heineken Malaysia Bhd has announced the appointment of Szilard Voros as its new finance director, after the post was left vacant since Sept 2 following the departure of Teo Hong Keng.

In a filing today, Heineken said the appointment of Voros — previously the finance director of Heineken Hungary — will be effective from Nov 1.

Voros joined Heineken Group in July 2015. At Heineken Hungary, he led the finance, procurement and IT functions and co-piloted the business “to drive Heineken Hungary back on a growth path after years of decline”, said the company.

Prior to that, Voros was with British American Tobacco (BAT) Group for 15 years.

“He spent the first 5 years of his career in financial jobs supporting the supply chain organisation, and gained expertise as finance controller, supporting sales and marketing organisations.

“In 2009, he successfully managed the projects entrusted to him as a regional marketing investment manager for BAT European Region and achieved excellent results in increasing cost-effectiveness,” said Heineken Malaysia.

He was subsequently appointed to the board of directors of the BAT Baltic Cluster in March 2012, and oversaw BAT’s full financial and operational management of Latvian, Lithuanian and Estonian markets as head of finance Baltic cluster in Riga, Latvia.
