KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 9): The government has decided to reassess the relocation of the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) base in Butterworth, said Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein.

The government is also looking to relook - not only the security and location of all of its camps, airbase and defense installations for the army, navy and airforce in the country - but also the welfare of all their personnel, he added.

"Not yet, I think we have to look at it as a whole, it is not just the Butterworth camp, but we will make it as one of the government’s agenda, not at tomorrow's budget but in the 11th Malaysian Plan," he said when asked if the government had made a decision to relocate the Butterworth airbase to a new site.

He was speaking to reporters at Parliament today.
