KUALA LUMPUR (March 29): In an abrupt about-turn, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said moved a motion for the Dewan Rakyat sitting to be adjourned at 5:30pm today.

This was in contrast with her earlier motion requesting that today's sitting continue until the Anti-Fake News Bill 2018 that was tabled on Monday is endorsed by the house.

Azalina made the adjournment motion when she interrupted Bagan Serai member of Parliament (MP) Datuk Dr Noor Azmi Ghazal, who was debating the Bill.

After the motion was passed, Puchong MP Gobind Singh Deo sought clarification from Deputy Speaker Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee on whether the vote on the Bill will still happen today.

In response, Ronald said the debate and vote will continue on Monday.
