KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 23): Globetronics Technology Bhd, which reported a 15% rise in first half net profit, has declared a second interim dividend of two sen per share along with a special dividend of four sen per share.

The sensor producer, which traditionally declares special dividends,  noted that the four sen payout this time is three sen lower than the previous year’s rate as the group needs to conserve cash for its capital expenditure and expansion.

The interim dividend and special dividend would be paid on Nov 21. The ex-date is Nov 7 and entitlement date is Nov 9.

The group reported a net profit of RM11.7 million for the half year ended June 30, 2017, compared with RM10.2 million a year ago, due to pick up in volume loadings from the mass production of new products from certain customers in the group.

Half-yearly revenue dipped 2.9% to RM112.7 million from RM116.2 million.

Globetronic shares slipped 15 sen or 2.36% to close at RM6.20 today for a market capitalisation of RM1.8 billion.
