KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 26): GD Express Carrier Bhd (GDex) is buying three properties, located at Ipoh, Perak, as well as at Mont Kiara and Q-Sentral here, from Abric Bhd for RM19.3 million, to generate rental income for the group, as well as for business expansion purposes. 

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, GDex said its wholly-owned subsidiary GD Facilities & Assets Management Sdn Bhd has entered into a conditional share sale agreement with Abric to acquire the entire stake in Abric Properties Sdn Bhd that owns the three properties.

"The acquisition is expected to increase the earnings of the group," it added.

GDex said the purchase will be financed by internal funds and/or bank borrowings.

Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the acquisition is expected to be completed within 30 days.

GDex shares closed up 0.5 sen or 0.78% at 65 sen today, giving it at a market capitalisation of RM3.62 billion.
