KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 3): Trading in Gamuda Bhd and Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Bhd shares has been suspended between 9am and 5pm today "pending the release of a material announcement", both companies said in separate statements on Bursa Malaysia's website today.

Gamuda's businesses comprise construction, property development and infrastructure concession operations while Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor's businesses include infrastructure and utility besides telecommunications, and oil and gas operations.

In statements on Bursa Malaysia's website, Gamuda said: "Gamuda wishes to announce that Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd has approved the company's request for suspension in the trading of its securities on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities with effect from 9.00am to 5.00pm on Friday, Aug 3, 2018 pending the release of a material announcement. As such, the structured warrants relating to Gamuda have also been suspended at the same time."

Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor said: "Perangsang Selangor wishes to announce that Bursa Malaysia Securities has approved the company's request for suspension in the trading of its securities on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities with effect from 9.00am to 5.00pm on Friday, Aug 3, 2018 pending the release of a material announcement."

Prior to the suspension today, Gamuda shares closed yesterday at RM3.88 while Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor ended at RM1.90.
