KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 9): G Capital Bhd, which has received an unusual market activity (UMA) query from Bursa Malaysia today over the sharp fall in its share price recently, said it is unaware of what could have caused this.

G Capital's share price has been trending downwards after reaching its peak of RM1.27 on Aug 10. Today, the stock closed 3 sen lower at 59 sen — down 53.5% from the peak — after some 6.96 million shares were done, giving it a market capitalisation of RM158.47 million.

In a stock exchange filing, the company said to the best of its knowledge, and after making due enquiry with all its board members and major shareholders, it is not aware of any unannounced corporate development, rumour or report, or any other reason that could account for the UMA.

The group also said it is in compliance with the Bursa listing requirements and will make the necessary announcement of any material information accordingly.

G Capital, formerly known as Gunung Capital, is principally involved in the provision of charter services with a fleet of land-based passenger transportation assets and specialty vehicles.
