KUALA LUMPUR (August 14): Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad, together with two non-independent directors —  Datuk Noor Ehsanuddin Mohd Harun Narrashid and Datuk Hanapi Suhada — have resigned from Encorp Bhd’s board as the company’s major shareholder the Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA) has changed its nominees.

Isa resigned as chairman of Encorp as FELDA, which holds a 70.82% stake in the group, changed its nominee for the post, Encorp said in a filing with the stock exchange today.

However, no succeeding chairman was named.

To recap, Isa had been removed as chairman from Felda Global Venture Holdings Bhd (FGV) earlier this year after a boardroom tussle.

Meanwhile, Noor Ehsanuddin and Hanapi also resigned from the board for the same reason, according to separate filings with the stock exchange.

Felda appointed three new non-independent and non-executive directors, namely Datuk Syed Mohamed Syed Ibrahim, Datuk Muzammil Mohd Nor and Hussein Ismail. All three are also directors of Felda Investment Corp.

Syed Mohamed is currently the president and CEO of Iskandar Waterfront Holdings Sdn Bhd and director of Prasarana Integrated Development Sdn Bhd and Endless Growth Sdn Bhd.

Meanwhile, Muzammil is also deputy director general for management at FELDA and director at FGV.

On the other hand, Hussein was appointed director of Felda Investment Corp Sdn Bhd and Iris Corp Bhd in April and late July respectively.

Shares in Encorp gained two sen or 2.8% at 73.5 sen today, valuing the company at RM204.81 million.
