Yesterday, Tenaga said net profit rose to RM1.48 billion in the second quarter ended Feb 28, 2017 (2QFY17), from RM1.32 billion a year earlier. First-half (1HFY17) net profit however fell to RM3.22 billion, from RM3.3 billion.

Across Bursa Malaysia today, gainers led decliners by 411 to 358 respectively. The total value of traded shares was RM1.13 billion, involving 1.53 billion units across the exchange.

Asian shares fell. Japan's Nikkei 225 fell 0.32%, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng was 0.37% lower.

Reuters reported Asian stocks slipped on Friday, as investors took profits after a strong week, while the Korean won weakened after U.S. President Donald Trump said he would renegotiate or terminate a trade deal with South Korea.

Trump's comments about the free-trade agreement "can be understood as a sign of (further) protectionism," Jung Sung-yoon, a foreign exchange analyst at Hyundai Futures, was quoted as saying.
