KUALA LUMPUR (June 8): The FBM KLCI opened higher before falling as investors took profit from the index's recent gains.

At 9am today, the KLCI rose 2.09 points or 0.1% to 1,787.90. At 9:08am, the index fell 1.18 points to 1,784.63.

"Given the strong double-digit gains captured in the past two days, overbought momentum has increased which should encourage profit taking ahead of the weekend," TA Securities Holdings Bhd wrote in a note today.

Yesterday, the KLCI rose 8.68 points to close at 1,785.81 after climbing to its intraday high at 1,801.42. The KLCI extended its gain yesterday after rising 21.99 points on Wednesday.

Today, TA said it revised its KLCI immediate resistance to 1,802 to match yesterday's intraday high. "Immediate supports are from the recent intraday lows of 1,751, 1,738 and 1,725, with crucial support from the Dec 2017 low of 1,708," TA said.
