KUALA LUMPUR: Encorp Bhd non-independent and non-executive chairman Datuk Syed Mohamed Syed Ibrahim has resigned from the company, citing personal reasons.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, Encorp said Syed Mohamed, 59, was a nominee of Felda Investment Corp Sdn Bhd (FIC), which is a major shareholder of Encorp Bhd with a 67.1% stake. He was redesignated to his current role on Aug 25, 2017. He  is presently the chairman of FIC and Prasarana Integrated Development Sdn Bhd. He is also the executive director of Iskandar Waterfront Holdings Sdn Bhd and a director at I&P Group Sdn Bhd, Yayasan Sultan Ibrahim Johor and Tunku Laksamana Johor Cancer Foundation.

Encorp said he started his working career in the banking industry with Bank Bumiputera (M) Bhd and Bank Rakyat. Later he moved on to join the Johor State Economic Development Corp from 1989 to 1993.
