KUALA LUMPUR: A 60%-owned unit of EITA Resources Bhd has bagged a RM48.94 million contract from Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) to undertake a double circuit 132 kilovolt (kV) underground cable project in Melaka.

The unit, TransSystem Continental Sdn Bhd (TSC), received a letter of acceptance yesterday from TNB for the project, which runs from Pencawang Masuk Utama (PMU) Ujong Pasir to PMU Pulau Melaka.

This makes it the fourth project from TNB that EITA has secured this week, after separately announcing three other projects worth RM123.47 million that it bagged from the utility giant, bringing the new tally to RM172.41 million.

“The contract shall be effective from (today) and the time for completion shall be 605 days from the commencement date,” EITA said in a stock exchange filing yesterday.

Shares in EITA gained five sen or 4.03% to close at RM1.29 yesterday, leaving the group with a market capitalisation of RM167.7 million.
