KUALA LUMPUR (May 28): Dagang NeXChange Bhd's (DNeX) stock and warrants were up in active trading this morning after a report saying Foxconn Technology Group was in talks to buy a stake in the group.

This morning, DNeX shares were unchanged at 80 sen, with 60.35 million shares traded, giving it a market capitalisation of RM1.9 billion.

It was the tenth most actively traded counter on the local bourse.

Meanwhile, its warrants dipped half a sen or 1.72% to 28.5 sen, with 64.58 million shares changing hands, placing it in sixth place among the top actives.

Yesterday, it was reported that Foxconn was eyeing a stake in the group after it lost its bid to DNeX for semiconductor SilTerra Malaysia Sdn Bhd.

"The main assembler of Apple Inc’s iPhones could take a minority stake in DNeX and help to expand the business of its chipmaker SilTerra Malaysia Sdn Bhd, one of the people said, asking not to be identified as the matter is private. DNeX landed the winning offer in the sale of SilTerra in February, outbidding Foxconn," reported Bloomberg.
