KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 23): Dagang NeXchandge Bhd (DNeX) has inked an agreement with cybersecurity solutions provider EC-Council International Ltd to offer cyber security services for large enterprises in Malaysia.

In a statement, the group said EC-Council Global Services Sdn Bhd (EGS) will acquire 100% of DneX Technology Sdn Bhd, which operates a security operations centre (SOC) in Malaysia. DneX will, in turn, acquire a 15% stake in EGS, which offers services such as security training, technology and professional services locally.

In 2018, DNeX signed an agreement with EC-Council Global Services to offer cyber security professional services in Malaysia.

DNeX executive deputy chairman Datuk Samsul Husin said the partnership is timely and bodes well for the group.

“With the advancement in digital technology and the development of more sophisticated cybersecurity that disrupt conventional businesses worldwide, we believe EC-Council has what it takes to push DNeX to new heights,” said Samsul.

EC-Council Group chief executive officer (CEO) and president Jay Bavisi said the deal would allow for it to bring its expertise to Malaysian enterprises.

“With the acquisition of DNeX Technology, we will be able to offer world-class comprehensive cybersecurity solutions and SOC services to enterprises in Malaysia and help them solve the people, process and technology challenges in cyber,” he said.

Shares in DNeX closed unchanged at 27 sen, giving it a market capitalisation of RM474.68 million. The counter saw 1.33 million shares traded.
