KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 6): Dagang Nexchange Bhd (DNex) has bagged a sub-contract to undertake the encryption of radio frequency identification (RFID) vehicle entry permit (VEP) tags on foreign vehicles entering Malaysia.
The group said its 51%-owned subsidiary, DNEX RFID Sdn Bhd, was awarded the job by the project’s main contractor TCSens Sdn Bhd.
The contract price is RM15 per tag, DNex said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.
DNex currently operates and manages the VEP and road charges system project that involves foreign-registered vehicles entering Malaysia via Johor.
“The sub-contract is expected to contribute positively towards the future earnings and net assets per share of DNeX over its tenure,” DNex said.
DNex’s share price fell 1 sen or 2.08% to 47 sen today, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM824.57 million.
