KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 14): Dagang Nexchange Bhd (DNeX) has bagged a RM8.6 million subcontract to supply, install and commission hardware equipment and ICT facilities in relation to the proposed construction of Universiti Putra Malaysia's training hospital in Serdang.

Its wholly-owned subsidiary, DNex Solutions Sdn Bhd had yesterday accepted a letter of award from Aim Concept Sdn Bhd, the Johor-based main contractor for the project.

The project award is for three months, from Aug 7 to Nov 7 this year, according to DNeX's filing with the stock exchange today.

The scope of the works will include mobilisation and demobilisation to the site, pre-installation works, installation, testing and commissioning of the equipment, a minimum of three training sessions, and provision of all necessary machinery, tools and equipment to undertake the works.

It will also involve the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of active network equipment for a networking system, hardware equipment, software for office automation, an ICT training centre or computer lab, library and facilities, integration with existing ICT facilities and telephone equipment.

The salient terms of the subcontract include full compliance with regulations by the Public Works Department (Jabatan Kerja Raya) with regards to contract brands, models and specifications, DNeX said.

"Final payment shall be made based on the final quantities of the works measured on site," it added.

However, the subcontract sum is not to be adjusted or altered in any way other than in accordance with the express conditions of the contract.

"No fluctuation or price is to be allowed under the subcontract," DNeX said.

"Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the subcontract is expected to contribute positively to the future earnings and net assets per share of the group," it said.

Shares in DNeX were unchanged at 40.5 sen this afternoon, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM712 million.
