KUALA LUMPUR (July 7): DiGi.Com Bhd announced that it has appointed current Telenor Hungary's chief financial officer (CFO) Nakul Sehgal as the company's CFO effective Aug 1, 2017.

In a statement today, DiGi said Nakul, 36, will replace current CFO Karl Erik Broten, 50, who will have to take up a new role in Telenor Group.

DiGi said Nakul has served as CFO of Telenor Hungary since January 2016, overseeing all financial matters and holding the responsibility for establishing and executing the company's strategy, and enterprise risk management efforts.

Nakul joined Telenor Group in May 2010 as head of financial reporting in Telenor India and has held various leadership positions within finance.

"He has led the finance department over the years to achieve business targets and objectives through streamlining operations resulting in higher growth and efficiency," said the statement.

Back in January 2014, he became vice president and eventually headed business strategy and performance management in Telenor India.

DiGi's share price eased one sen to close at RM5 with 3.2 million shares changing hands. Its market capitalisation stands at RM38.88 billion.
