KUALA LUMPUR (May 21): The application deadline for Alliance Bank Malaysia Bhd's annual BizSmart Challenge, the bank's flagship programme aimed at nurturing small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), has been extended from May 20 to May 31.

SMEs participating in BizSmart Challenge 2018, which is presented by Alliance Bank and Eco World Development Group Bhd (EcoWorld), stand a chance to win RM1 million and media coverage prizes.

SMEs that have been in operation between 18 months and five years are encouraged to apply.

"This year, finalists will undergo realistic business challenges which will play out on reality TV.

"They will be guided by young and established mentors such as Bryan Loo of Loob Holding, Christy Ng of Christy Ng Shoes, and Azran Osman-Rani of Naluri Hidup," the organisers said in a joint statement dated May 18.

Participants in the challenge will receive business training on topics such as marketing, presentation skills, talent management, and networking opportunities with business icons such as EcoWorld's Tan Sri Liew Kee Sin, Alliance Bank's Joel Kornreich and Malek Ali of BFM89.9, who are also judges in the challenge.

"The BizSmart Challenge is also offering finalists a chance to apply for non-collaterised financing of up to a total of RM5 million from Alliance Bank, to help grow their businesses sustainably," it added.
