KUALA LUMPUR (July 3): Damansara Realty Bhd (DBhd) has appointed its group chief executive officer (CEO) Brian Iskandar Zulkarim as executive director and group managing director (MD) with immediate effect.

In a statement today, DBhd said Brian Iskandar, 44, has been holding his current post since Sept 1, 2016. He was responsible for the implementation of a strategic restructuring plan that returned DBhd to profitability in 2017 and brought its fourth straight quarter of profit in the first quarter ended March 31, 2018.

"Operationally, he has extensive experience in asset and facilities management, and airport planning and operations," DBhd added.

“Brian Iskandar’s appointment to the board will strongly support DBhd's vision towards becoming the preferred assets and facilities management solutions provider,” said DBhd chairman Datuk Ahmad Zahri Jamil.

Brian Iskandar was formerly the general manager of transformation management at Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd from Oct 1, 2015 to Sept 1, 2016.

DBhd also announced the appointment of Azhari Abdul Hamid, 52, as group executive director. He was formerly the MD of HC Duraclean Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of DBhd, for almost 20 years.

According to DBhd, Azhari began his career at Johor Corp (JCorp), serving in various positions. Prior to becoming the MD of HCD, he had served as the general manager of a JCorp's subsidiary, Johor Franchise Development Sdn Bhd.

"Azhari’s addition to the board is essential to ensure that our board composition reflects the relevant business expertise and experience needed for DBhd to flourish,” Ahmad Zahri said.

Yesterday, DBhd appointed Vinie Chong Pui Ling, 39, as its independent non-executive director.

DBhd shares ended the morning session unchanged at 40 sen, with 4,100 shares done, bringing a market capitalisation of RM127.35 million.
