BANGI (Aug 22): After three hours of fun yet fierce competition, Brian Lim Choon Wah from Petaling Jaya emerged as the victor of The Edge-Mah Sing Millionaire Challenge (TEMS MILLIONAIRE)!

The agile and quick-thinking Lim defeated 20 other finalists to win the grand prize – a RM1 million cash voucher to purchase a Mah Sing residential property in Malaysia.

“This is the greatest day of my life, I never expected I will win the competition,” said the 32-year old IT project manager.

The newly-minted millionaire shouted in excitement and hugged his family moments after he knocked down the last box in the “sandbag throw” final challenge to clinch the top prize.

The Edge-Mah Sing Millionaire Contest – organised by The Edge Media Group and Mah Sing Group Bhd – saw 21 chosen ones trying their hardest in the grand finale that took place at the Southville City @ KL South sales gallery in Bangi today.

As the grand prize winner, Lim will be entitled to purchase his Mah Sing dream home, with a choice of residential properties across property hotspots such as the Klang Valley, Greater KL, Penang, Johor and Sabah.

The other finalists were awarded a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 and a cash voucher for selected Mah Sing projects worth up to RM5,000 as consolation prizes for their participation and hard work.

“I had a good time today, although I couldn't pass the last challenge and win the competition. All the games were a combination of strength and skills, not just luck so the winner deserved it,” said Hong Lih Chun who was hot on Lim’s heels during the last challenge.

The ground-breaking event attracted around 200 members of the public including the finalists' families and friends to witness the creation of a new millionaire.

Au Foong Yee, the managing director of The Edge Communications Sdn Bhd and The Edge Property Sdn Bhd, said it is not every day – or, every other day in fact – that one comes across a contest with a RM1 million prize voucher that must be given away.

“Today marks a very special occasion for both Mah Sing and The Edge Media Group as the two companies join hands to introduce a brand new millionaire in Malaysia – that is assuming the grand prize winner is not already a millionaire,” she said during the prize presentation ceremony.

Mah Sing chief executive officer Ng Chai Yong said the company has a diversified range of residential products, the grand prize winner now has a very good worry on which property to choose.

“But more importantly, I think what we’ve achieved here is to make a person’s dream come true, and that is what Mah Sing aims to deliver through its properties as a premier lifestyle developer,” he added.

The Edge-Mah Sing Millionaire Contest was opened from June 20 to July 31. The online contest received overwhelming response from the public as participants stood a chance to win a RM1 million prize voucher to purchase any Mah Sing residential property in Malaysia.

Among some of Mah Sing’s million-ringgit properties include Icon Residence, Mont’Kiara in Kuala Lumpur; Aspen@Garden Residence in Cyberjaya; Ambrosia@Kinrara Residence in Puchong; Icon City in Petaling Jaya; The Loft@Southbay City in Penang; The Residences@Sutera Avenue in Sabah and The Meridin@Medini in Johor.

The other 20 contestants did not walk home empty handed. They were presented with Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 tablets and privilege vouchers worth up to RM5,000.
