KUALA LUMPUR (May 29): The Association of Islamic Banking Institutions Malaysia (AIBIM) announced Badlisyah Abdul Ghani, Chief Executive Officer of CIMB Islamic Bank Bhd, as its new president effective June 1, 2015.

Badlisyah will be the seventh President of AIBIM, succeeding Datuk Mohd Redza Shah Abd Wahid, who served as president since 2011.

“We all look forward to see Badlisyah drives AIBIM to the next level, in line with the aspiration of the members,” Redza said in a statement today.

Badlisyah added, “’I would like to record my gratitude to AIBIM members for giving me the trust to lead AIBIM, and I look forward to working with all members and stakeholders to continue the good work of Datuk Mohd Redza and those who preceded him.”

AIBIM also announced its new Exco line-up, with Bank Muamalat Malaysia as its Deputy President, Maybank Islamic as its Honorary Secretary and Bank Rakyat Malaysia as its Honorary Treasurer.
