KUALA LUMPUR (July 14): China Automobile Parts Holdings Ltd (CAP) has been issued a notice to show cause by Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd, on the commencement of trading suspension for failing to reissue its audited financial statements for the financial year ended Dec 31, 2015 within a month from June 5.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, CAP said the notice was issued on July 10.

CAP said it is also required to reissue the audited financial statements 2015 within six months from July 5, which is on or before Jan 4, 2018, failing which the regulator would commence delisting procedures against it.

On June 19, Bursa Securities directed CAP to have its financial results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2017 (1QFY17) reviewed by its external auditor.

It raised concerns the quarterly report may not be accurate or reliable, due to the withdrawal by PKF Malaysia Sdn Bhd on May 25 of its audit report for CAP’s 2015 financial statements, and concerns raised by the auditor regarding CAP’s 2016 financial statements.

Trading of its shares has been suspended effective June 8, after it failed to submit the 1QFY17 report to the local bourse for public release within the stipulated timeframe.
