KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 4): Chemical Co of Malaysia Bhd (CCM) has fixed the issue price for its new placement shares at RM1.32 each to raise some RM60 million. CCM had earlier proposed to issue up to 45.76 million new placement shares, representing up to 10% of its issued share base.

In a statement to Bursa Malaysia yesterday, CCM said the issue price represented a discount of about 8.2% to the five-day volume weighted average price of CCM shares up to yesterday at RM1.4384.

"Accordingly, the gross proceeds to be raised from the placement amounts to approximately RM60 million," CCM said.

CCM said Maybank Investment Bank Bhd has been appointed as the share placement agent.

Today, CCM's share trade had been suspended between 9am and 10am in conjunction with the announcement. Prior to the suspension, CCM shares closed at RM1.41 yesterday for a market value of RM641 million.
