KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 14): Chemical Company of Malaysia Bhd (CCM) said Indonesia's tax court has ruled in favour of its unit in its appeals over taxes imposed.

In a stock exchange filing today, the group said several tax adjustments were made by the tax auditor, amounting to 34.06 billion rupiah (RM9.78 million) or 99.25% of the total appealed amount of 34.31 billion rupiah (RM9.85 million).

In 2011, CCM's Indonesian subsidiary submitted its objections, along with supporting documents such as banks' confirmation, when it was asked to pay additional taxes of 36.1 billion rupiah based on the tax auditor's assessments then.

However, the objections were rejected by the director general of tax, resulting in PT CCM Indonesia filing the appeals in 2014.

Today, shares in CCM closed unchanged at RM1.75, valuing the group at RM293.47 million.
