KUALA LUMPUR (April 23): Undergarments manufacturer, Caely Holdings Bhd, which is eyeing the vast China market, is in talks with several lingerie companies in the country for potential collaboration.

Executive Chairperson, Datin Fong Nyok Yoon, said this was aimed at creating an enhanced and sustainable earnings and business prospects for Caely.

“The company foresees robust growth potential for the ladies’ undergarment industry in the region. This is largely underpinned by the increasing number of fashion-centric women and their higher purchasing power,” she said in a statement today.

Fong said the company also planned to leverage on its substantial shareholder, Ni Hsin Resources Bhd’s existing presence in Italy -- widely recognised as one of the world's fashion capitals -- to market Caely's lingerie products at "the next international level".

“We are also looking to acquire companies that have synergies with Caely’s businesses,” she added.

Ni Hsin manufactures and distributes premium stainless-steel cookware products, convex mirrors and clad metal. It has raised its stake in Caely to 17.49 per cent, according to the latest filing with Bursa Malaysia.

Fong said Caely was also exploring collaborative initiatives with Ni Hsin to market the latter's Pentoli products via Caely's direct selling licence, various marketing channels and joint training efforts.

Caely is Malaysia’s leading undergarments manufacturer, catering to both local and export markets under its own brand as well as other original equipment manufacturer brands.

Its current export markets include the United States, Europe and Canada.
