KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 14): Bumi Armada Bhd announced its floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel — Armada Kraken — has completed the offloading of its first cargo on Sept 12.

According to Bumi Armada, the FPSO vessel is operating in United Kingdom’s North Sea field.

“The Armada Kraken FPSO arrived at the location in the UK North Sea on February 13 and completed its hook-up on February 15,” Bumi Armada said in a media statement which was filed with Bursa Malaysia yesterday.

“The FPSO then achieved first oil on June 28, four and a half months after its hook-up, which is the fastest first oil delivery on an FPSO in the North Sea in the last ten years,” added Bumi Armada, a Malaysia-based international offshore energy facilities and services provider.

Bumi Armada is the fifth largest FPSO player in the world and an established offshore service vessel owner and operator, with extensive experience across Asia, Africa and Latin America.

At noon break today, shares in Bumi Armada rose one sen or 1.37% to pause at 74 sen, giving it a market capitalisation of RM4.34 billion.
