KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 24): Bioalpha Holdings Bhd shares rose as much as one sen or 4% to 27.5 sen so far today after the health supplement products manufacturer announced yesterday net profit rose substantially to RM4.78 million in the first half ended June 30, 2018 (1HFY18) from RM514,000 a year earlier.

Bioalpha also proposed a dividend of 0.11 sen a share, according to its statements to Bursa Malaysia.

At 10:59am today, Bioalpha shares were traded unchanged at 26.5 sen after some nine million shares were transacted.

CIMB Research analyst Nigel Foo wrote in a note today that CIMB maintained its 'add' call on Bioalpha shares with an unchanged target price of 44 sen.

"At 27% of our full-year forecast, (Bioalpha's) 1HFY18 net profit was in-line with our expectations as 1H is seasonally the weaker half," Foo said.
