KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 9): Bintai Kinden Corp Bhd has been appointed subcontractor to undertake works related to the construction of elevated stations for the Mass Rapid Transit 2 (MRT2) project.

The contract, valued at a provisional sum of RM13.3 million, was awarded to its wholly-owned unit Kejuruteraan Bintai Kindenko Sdn Bhd (KBK), by MRCB Builders Sdn Bhd on Aug 8, its bourse filing today showed.

Under the terms of the contract, KBK will undertake works related to supplying, delivering, installing, testing and commissioning of electrical works in connection with the construction and completion of elevated stations and other associated works, at Cyberjaya City Centre and Putrajaya Sentral (Package S210) under the Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya line.

Bintai Kinden anticipates the contract completing by November 2021, and sees no major risk with the non-renewable contract.

"The contract is expected to contribute positively to the earnings, earnings per share, net assets per share and gearing of the group for financial year ending March 31, 2019 as well as future earnings of Bintai group," read the filing today.

MRCB Builder's parent Malaysian Resources Corp Bhd (MRCB) had earlier announced securing the MRT2 contract in September 2017, for a sum of RM145.8 million.
