KUALA LUMPUR: Berjaya Sompo Insurance Bhd has appointed Tan Sek Kee (pic) as chief executive officer (CEO) of the company, replacing Datuk Loh Lye Ngok who is assuming a new role as director and senior adviser.

“After a rigorous and extensive search, the board concluded that Tan’s leadership and immense experience in the industry along with his strong track record of success as a senior officer made him the outstanding candidate for the role,” Sompo Holdings (Asia) Pte Ltd president and managing director Nobuhiro Kojima said in a statement yesterday.

“With his market-leading expertise and proven leadership skills, I am confident that he will lead Berjaya Sompo into its next chapter of growth,” he added.

Tan, 52, brings with him 25 years of experience in insurance industry where he held senior management positions with a global insurance company in many key areas namely, sales and marketing, strategic planning, operations, underwriting and claims.

Loh has been serving as CEO of Berjaya Sompo for 16 years.
