KUALA LUMPUR(July 27): Berjaya Media Bhd (BMedia), which publishes The Sun Daily newspaper, has been granted an extension of time up to Dec 20, 2018 to submit a regularisation plan to the regulatory authorities.

In a filing with the exchange today, AmInvestment Bank Bhd said Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd had, vide its letter dated July 26, granted the extension.

The investment bank added that Bursa Securities would proceed to suspend the trading of the listed securities of BMedia and to delist the Company in the event:-

(i)   the Company fails to submit a regularisation plan to the regulatory authorities on or before Dec 20, 2018;
(ii)  the Company fails to obtain approval from any of the regulatory authorities necessary for the implementation of its regularisation plan; and
(iii) the Company fails to implement its regularisation plan within the time frame or extended time frame stipulated by any of the regulatory authorities.

BMedia had on June 21, 2017 said it had slipped into Practice Note 17 (PN17) status, as its shareholders’ equity fell short of listing requirements.

As at 11.50am today, BMedia rose 12.50% or 2.5 sen to 22.5 sen, with 200 shares traded.
