KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 11): Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) has appointed Datuk Yunos Abd Ghani as its chief executive officer (CEO) for a tenure period of three years until Nov 30, 2020.

In a statement today, BSN said Yunos carries with him 30 years of experience in the banking industry, and has served in various operational aspects of the sector including international and Islamic banking.

He received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Eastern Michigan University, the US, in 1985 and is a member of the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers.

Prior to his appointment as CEO, Yunos was the bank's deputy CEO for corporate support.

"Based on his extensive experience in the banking sector and further assisted by the existing senior management, the board is confident and believes that he is able to lead BSN, and thus streamline the organisational structure to enhance the business strategy so that generation of sustainable income is achieved," said BSN chairman Tan Sri Abu Bakar Abdullah.

"The board and senior management also wish to record its sincere thanks and congratulations to YBhg Datuk Adinan Maning (former BSN CEO) for all the contributions made in driving BSN's excellence so that BSN is respected and able to compete with other banking institutions," he said.
