KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 4): Affin Hwang Investment Bank Bhd announced that Bank Negara Malaysia had taken cognisance of its name change from HwangDBS Investment Bank Bhd.

According to Affin Hwang’s press release today, the name change was effective since Sept 18 this year. The change came after the completion of the merger between Affin Investment Bank Bhd and HwangDBS Investment Bank.

According to Affin Hwang, companies under the group have been operating under the brand name “Affin Hwang Capital”, since Sept 22.

“At this juncture, there is no change to the way business is conducted. Retail stockbroking and asset management clients will continue to be served by their existing branches,” Affin Hwang said.

However, Affin Hwang urged clients and partners to take note that all dealings and transactions should be made in the legal names of the operating entities.

These include Affin Hwang Investment, Affin Hwang Asset Management Bhd, Affin Hwang Futures Sdn Bhd, Affin Hwang Nominees (Tempatan) Sdn Bhd and Affin Hwang Nominees (Asing) Sdn Bhd.
