BANDAR RIMBAYU FRIENDSHIP CHARITY RUN began with a bang as an estimated 600 participants of all ages flocked to Bandar Rimbayu — IJM Land Bhd’s certified green township near Kota Kemuning, Shah Alam for the 6km run recently.

In the inaugural corporate social responsibility (CSR) effort, RM20,000 was collected and distributed between two beneficiaries — the Children Wish Society of Malaysia (CWS) and the National Kidney Foundation (NKF).

The run offered participants a memorable and enjoyable experience as they ran along a well-planned route that allowed them to enjoy the lush greenery and scenic surroundings of the township.

Bandar Rimbayu Sdn Bhd chief operating officer Shuy Eng Leong said: “We want to create a meaningful event in which we can combine sports with charity while giving back to the community.

“The event also gives us the opportunity to connect and actively engage with the community. We encouraged participants from all walks of life and ages, regardless of whether they are social or serious runners, to participate in our run and have fun with their family, friends and colleagues.”

The highlight of the event was a lucky draw in which some won prizes such as a 11-inch Macbook Air notebook, Samsung smart camera, 26-inch iPad Mini, mountain bike, Samsonite travel luggage, and Nippon Paint set sponsored by Nippon Paint (M) Sdn Bhd.
