KUALA LUMPUR (June 23): UMW Oil & Gas Corp Bhd (UMWOG) non-executive director Badrul Feisal Abdul Rahim had resigned today ahead of the completion of UMW Holdings Bhd's planned distribution of its UMWOG stake to UMW Holdings shareholders.

Badrul Feisal is UMW Holdings president and group CEO. According to UMWOG's statement to Bursa Malaysia today, Badrul Feisal resigned "due to the impending completion of the proposed distribution as announced by UMW Holdings Bhd".

UMW Holdings had initially announced the UMWOG stake distribution in January this year. UMW Holdings said then it owned 1.2 billion shares or a 55.73% stake in UMWOG as at Dec 30, 2016.

UMW Holdings said "the proposed distribution is to be undertaken in conjunction with the company's plan to exit its investments in the O&G industry."

Today, UMWOG also announced the appointment of three new directors.

They are Haida Shenny Hazri, Mohd Rashid Mohd Yusof and Rowina Ghazali Seth.

At 12:30pm, UMWOG shares settled 0.5 sen or 1% lower at 48 sen for a market value of RM1.04 billion. The stock saw 711,200 shares traded.
