<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>When asked about a news report in a local business daily that Mohamed Azmin had rejected three internal names nominated by the board, Mohamed Azmin said the CEO’s appointment is not a question of whether he approves of it or not.</p></div><div class=inPageAd id=div-gpt-ad-inpage></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>“It isn’t the issue of whether I am in agreement or not with the appointment. We have to look at it as a whole, as there is a comprehensive recovery plan [for the Felda group] and its agencies,” he told reporters yesterday.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>On the issue of political appointees on the board of government-linked companies (GLCs), Mohamed Azmin said political appointees will only be considered if they have the qualifications and merits for the role.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>“In my view, we agree that there will be no political rewards in any GLCs, and I agree, the main priority for GLC [board] appointments should be professionals, but if there are any politicians who have the qualifications and merits, we will consider, but I reiterate here again that priority would be the working-class professionals,” Mohamed Azmin said.</p></div>
