SHAH ALAM (May 10): PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali is scheduled to meet Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah this afternoon, after PKR won 51 out of 56 state seats in Malaysia's 14th General Election (GE14) yesterday.

PKR is a component party under the Pakatan Harapan coalition. Today, Mohamed Azmin was seen entering Bukit Kayangan Palace here at 10:30am.

In a statement today, he said: "In Selangor, we have witnessed landslide majorities in favour of Pakatan Harapan. We have won 51 out of 56 seats in the state — a stunning 91 per cent. This exceptional result exceeded my own expectations of 40 seats. I am truly humbled by the support shown by the people for our policies and our principles."

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Mohamed Azmin told reporters outside the palace that a discussion was ongoing between Sultan Sharafuddin and Selangor police chief Datuk Mazlan Mansor.

It is unclear as to why Mazlan requested for an audience with Sultan Sharafuddin.
