KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 2): Former managing director Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar has sent out a five-page farewell letter to the staff of Khazanah Nasional Bhd today.

In the letter, Azman recorded his gratitude to everyone he has worked with, and spoke of the fund's achievements during his tenure.

He also took the opportunity to clarify two deals that the sovereign wealth fund invested in which have turned controversial recently, namely the RM80 million losses in an online lingerie venture, and the loss of RM1.7 billion from its investment in UBS.

Azman clocked out of Khazanah's office for the last time on Tuesday after 14 years as its MD, following an en masse resignation of the fund's eight-person board members last week, which has been accepted by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
