KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 28): ATA IMS Bhd, formerly known as Denko Industrial Corp Bhd, reported a 41.64% increase in its net profit to RM30.56 million or 2.66 sen a share in the first quarter ended June 30, 2018 (1QFY19), from RM21.57 million or 2.09 sen a share a year ago, due to higher sales orders from existing customers.

Quarterly revenue rose 37.56% to RM576.76 million, from RM419.28 million in 1QFY18, according to a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.

On its prospects, ATA IMS said the group, an electronics manufacturing services provider, will continue to expand and improve its production capabilities and operational efficiencies despite current economic challenges, as it expects higher volume of orders from existing customers.

In a separate statement today, its executive chairman Datuk Sri Foo Chee Juan said the group remains positive for the current financial year, barring any unforeseen circumstances.

Foo added that the group, which has acquired two pieces of industrial properties which are pending completion, is planning to convert these properties into manufacturing and warehousing facilities to further expand its operations and production capacity, on expectations of higher volume of orders from customers.

Shares of ATA IMS closed unchanged at RM1.51 today, for a market capitalisation of RM1.73 billion.
