KUALA LUMPUR: Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd has teamed up with beIN Sports to offer live coverage of the Uefa Champions League and Uefa Europa League from the 2018/19 season to 2020/21.

Astro said both competitions will be offered on beIN SPORTS and beIN’s dedicated Uefa channel — beIN SPORTS MAX.

“As the ‘home of sports’, we are pleased to partner beIN to broadcast three new seasons of the Uefa Champions League  and Uefa Europa League in Malaysia on beIN SPORTS. Fans can also catch beIN SPORTS linear channels on Astro GO at their convenience,” Astro chief of sports Lee Choong Khay said in a statement yesterday.

beIN Asia Pacific managing director Mike Kerr said football fans can now enjoy the best European football action through this service as it is also offering La Liga and Ligue 1 — Spanish and French football leagues — besides the Uefa Europa League and Uefa Champions League.

“They are the only annual tournaments where all the megastars of football such as Ronaldo, Messi, Neymar and Salah gather to battle for supremacy.

“We are especially thrilled we could make this happen with Astro as we want to continue to deliver the best football experience and fuel local fans’ passion for the beautiful game,” Kerr added.

beIN Asia Pacific is a multiplatform media company offering live sporting events through its premium sports brand, beIN SPORTS.

Headquartered in Singapore, it is part of beIN Media Group, a global media and entertainment group with over 60 channels.

beIN SPORTS is currently available in 11 countries in the Asia-Pacific region on leading pay TV platforms. The group also owns Miramax and leading pay TV platforms in the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey.
