<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner>KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 26):&nbsp;Astro&nbsp;Malaysia Holdings Bhd, the country’s largest pay-television provider, has secured the English Premier League (EPL) broadcast rights in Malaysia for another three seasons from 2019/20 to 2021/22. 
 
The costs of the broadcasting rights were not disclosed. 
 
In a statement today,&nbsp;Astro&nbsp;chief of sports Lee Choong Khay said with the rights,&nbsp;Astro&nbsp;will get to broadcast all 380 matches live in HD on&nbsp;Astro&nbsp;TV and&nbsp;Astro&nbsp;GO. 
 
"We hope to excite sports customers by broadcasting selected live matches of the new season in 4K UHD. We look forward to rollout our 4K UHD offerings to provide the most premium and immersive sports viewing experience,” he added. 
 
Premier League executive chairman Richard Scudamore said football fans in Malaysia are known for their passionate following of the Premier League and their clubs. 
 
Astro&nbsp;shares closed unchanged at RM1.66 today, with 1.42 million shares done, bringing a market capitalisation of RM8.66 billion.

CIMB Thai Bank PCL’s net profit for the first quarter ended March 31, 2024 (1QFY2024) dropped 24.6% year-on-year to 626.1 million baht from 830.1 million baht, as it reported lower operating income and higher expenses.
