KUALA LUMPUR (June 20): Asia Media Group Bhd is unaware of any corporate development or rumours relating to its business and affairs that could account for the unusual trading of its shares.

It was replying to an unusual market query (UMA) by Bursa Malaysia earlier today, after making due enquiry on the matter with its directors and major shareholders.

Asia Media’s share price jumped 75% in less than a week, as its trading volume ballooned near 46 times in the same period, which prompted the stock exchange regulator to issue the UMA query.

At closing today, the stock was up one sen or 9.52% at 11.5 sen, after 47.7 million shares were traded, valuing it at RM27.5 million. The shares had peaked at 14.5 sen earlier in the day.
