KUALA LUMPUR (April 9): The Public Relations Consultants’ Association of Malaysia (PRCA Malaysia) has recently elected Andy See as its president for a two-year term (2018-2020), replacing Rozani Jainudeen who served in the post since 2013.

The association also elected Priority Communications PR executive director Elaine Chuah as vice-president; Centriq PR managing director (MD) Jacqueline Arnold as honorary secretary and essence Burson-Marsteller chief executive officer Felix Heinimannas its honorary treasurer.

The other executive committee members include TQPR principal consultant and director Niall Dologhan; Weber Shandwick vice-president of client experience Adli Abdul Karim; Anita Chandran & Associates principal consultant Anita Chandran; and Syed Mohammed Idid, chairman of Institute of Public Relations Malaysia (IPRM) - membership and publicity bureau.

“The public relations landscape is continuously evolving, more so in recent years than before. PR professionals no longer can operate in silo – thus the need to transform and stay relevant in terms of bringing value to the clients and industries they serve," said See in a statement today.

"Communications is an important element in any organisation; but public relations has been and will always remain one of the most powerful and effective tools in reputation building, marketing communications and value creation - and this has not changed,” he added. 

Bringing close to 20 years of experience in the public relations industry, See is the founder and MD of Perspective Strategies.

PRCA Malaysia was formed in 1999 as a non-profit organisation where local PR and communications practitioners can share their knowledge and experiences to develop the PR industry.
