KUALA LUMPUR (May 27): Robbie Hari Krishnan Tatparanandam, the nephew of tycoon T Ananda Krishnan, has retired as an executive director of MQ Technology Bhd.
 
According to a Bursa Malaysia filing, Robbie’s retirement was with effect from yesterday.
 
He had served as a director in the company for about five months, having been appointed on Dec 8 last year.

Robbie, 41, is presently an executive producer with Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd, focusing on branding and content development. He has over 15 years of experience in business development, management and production.
 
Loss-making MQ Technology, which is based in Penang, is primarily involved in the manufacture of moulds, tools, dies, jigs and fixtures mainly used in the manufacture of hard disk drives.
 
On Dec 14 last year, the group said its subsidiary Star Acres Sdn Bhd has signed an agreement with Cambodian Resort & Entertainment Co Ltd (CRE) to develop a theme park, hotel, casino and apartments in Cambodia, with an estimated gross development value of US$51.1 million, over the next six years.
 
MQ Tech announced on April 12 that Star Acres had received the consent from CRE to extend the agreement to July 11.
 
In a separate filing, MQ Tech announced the retirement of its independent and non-executive director Na Chiang Seng, 41. He was appointed to the board in March 2014.
