KUALA LUMPUR (July 24): AmMetLife Takaful Bhd has appointed Noor Azam Mohd Yusof as its new chief executive officer, effective July 1.

AmMetLife is a joint venture between Ambank Group and New York-based MetLife.

Noor Azam has over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, having held a series of senior roles prior to joining AmMetLife.

"We are delighted to welcome Noor Azam to AmMetLife Takaful and are confident that his extensive experience in the industry will help us enhance our value proposition as a modern takaful operator in Malaysia," said Datuk Sulaiman Mohd Tahir, the group chief executive officer of AmBank Group, in a statement.

MetLife Asia's senior vice president and regional executive Damien Green added that Noor Azam will be a strong addition to the senior leadership team in Malaysia.

"With his wealth of experience and industry knowledge, we are confident that he will lead AmMetLife Takaful to greater heights," said Green.

Noor Azam holds a Master in Business Administration from University of Technology MARA, Malaysia and Bachelor of Science (Marketing) from Northern Illinois University, USA.
